A block on information in the register of residents is only entered under strict conditions.
To do this, you must provide credible evidence that you or another person may be at risk to life, health, personal freedom or similar interests worthy of protection as a result of information from the register of residents.
In principle, anyone can obtain information about a specific person from the population register on request. However, you can have an information block entered in the population register if the disclosure of your address could jeopardise your life, health, personal freedom or similar interests worthy of protection.
The information block only affects the private sector (private individuals, companies, lawyers, etc.).
Authorities and other public bodies will continue to receive information.
The information block is limited to two years. It can be extended upon renewed application.Basis for action(s)

Procedure
We recommend that you contact the responsible office before applying and find out whether a block is possible in your case.
The information block is entered upon application. When submitting the application, you must provide facts and credible evidence as to why the provision of information may jeopardise your life, health, personal freedom or similar interests worthy of protection. The application can be made in writing or in person at the authority.
Your details will then be checked by the competent authority. If this check shows that the relevant requirements have been met, an information block will be noted in the population register for 2 years, which applies to all types of population register information provided to private individuals and non-public bodies.
The block only applies to the flat for which it was requested.
You can have the information block extended after the time has expired.
Processing time
As a rule, processing takes place immediately.
Deadlines
The information block ends after 2 years and can be extended on request.
