You have the option of objecting to the transfer of your own data to parties, voter groups and other organisers of election proposals. If you object, your data will not be passed on.

All you have to do is lodge an objection with the local registration office.

The objection is valid until you revoke it.

According to the Federal Registration Act, you can object to the disclosure of your data in the following cases without giving reasons (block on disclosure):

    • Data transfer to the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Personnel Management for persons who come of age in the following year,
    • Data transfers to religious organisations under public law,
    • Information on registration data to parties, voter groups and other organisers of election proposals in connection with elections,
    • Information on age or marriage anniversaries to the press, radio and elected members of state and municipal representative bodies,
    • Information about registration data to address book publishers.

However, the objection only applies to the registration authority to which you have informally applied for the information block.
