You can identify yourself with a passport when travelling to other countries. If you need a passport urgently, you can apply for it in an express procedure at a citizens' office. Your new passport will then be ready faster. You will have to pay more for this.
The normal passport has 32 pages. If you travel a lot, you can apply for a passport with 48 pages. Both variants can be applied for using the express procedure.

You can apply for your passport using the express procedure at your local Citizens' Registration Office at your main place of residence. Applications can be made at any other citizens' registration office if an important reason is presented; a surcharge for lack of jurisdiction will apply.
