Anyone who has reached the age of 14 can declare their withdrawal from a church, religious community or ideological community. For a person who has not yet reached the age of 14, the legal representative who has custody of the person (parents or, if applicable, one parent) can declare their withdrawal from the church. In the case of a child who has reached the age of 12, withdrawal cannot be declared against their will.
Leaving the church takes effect on the day of the declaration.
The obligation to pay church tax ends at the end of the month in which the declaration becomes effective.

Identity card or passport or foreign identity card with a registration confirmation that is not older than six months
Costs (fees, expenses, etc.)
The fee for the declaration of withdrawal/transfer after the age of 14 is EUR 15.00.
The declaration of withdrawal/transfer for a person before the age of 14 is free of charge.
Procedure
The resignation must be declared to the registry office in whose district the declaring parties or their legal representatives have their place of residence or, in the absence of a place of residence, their habitual abode.
