- If the civil partnership certificates are applied for at a registry office other than the one responsible for issuing them, the registry office responsible for keeping the register will transmit the data required for printing the certificate.

The registry office issues certificates and notarised extracts from the registers.
Civil status certificates are to be issued on request to those persons to whom a register entry relates, as well as their spouses, partners, ancestors and descendants. Other persons have a right to the issue of civil status certificates if they can credibly demonstrate a legal interest.

Required documents
- Proof of identity (identity card, passport, or suitable identification document) for authorisation to apply
- Proof of legal interest
Prerequisites
- The person submitting the application must be the person to whom the register entry relates.
- Spouses, life partners, ancestors, descendants or any other person who can credibly demonstrate a legal interest are also entitled to apply.
Costs (fees, expenses, etc.)
- Costs may be incurred for the issue of a certificate.
- Please contact your local registry office.
- There is a fee of €15 for the issue of a certificate in the state capital Schwerin
- For each additional copy ordered at the same time, a fee of €7.50 will be charged in the state capital Schwerin
Procedure
The applicant requests the issue of a civil status certificate or a certified extract from the register.
Spouses, life partners, ancestors, descendants or any other person who can credibly demonstrate a legal interest are also entitled to apply.
After checking the authorisation, the registry office issues the certificate or the certified extract from the register.
