Traffic signs: Suggest removal
Full text
For reasons of safety and order, climate and environmental protection, health and urban development, traffic on public roads is regulated by traffic signs (VZ) and traffic facilities (VE).
Traffic signs include, for example:
- Traffic signs
- Road markings
- Traffic lights
Traffic facilities are for example:
- Red and white striped barriers
- Bollards and barrier railings
- Parking ticket machines
Sometimes the reasons why a traffic sign was erected no longer apply. This is the case, for example, if:
- the traffic routing was changed
- traffic signs contradict each other
- Bollards interfere with pedestrian or bicycle traffic
- a traffic sign indicates a danger, even though it no longer exists
You can submit proposals for the removal of traffic signs and traffic facilities to your road traffic authority. When doing so, explain the reasons that led to your proposal. The road traffic authority will then check whether the traffic sign or traffic device is still required in the specific case.
