Volunteer fire brigade: accident insurance cover

Every active member of the volunteer fire brigade in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is insured by the Hanseatische Feuerwehr-Unfallkasse Nord. Furthermore, all suitable means are used to prevent accidents at work and occupational illnesses as well as work-related health hazards, and effective first aid is provided.
Basis for action(s)
§ Section 2 (1) No. 12 SGB VII in conjunction with the "State Ordinance on the Merger of the Firefighters' Accident Insurance Fund North with the Hamburg Firefighters' Accident Insurance Fund to form the Hanseatic Firefighters' Accident Insurance Fund North" of 20 June 2006 (M-V Law and Ordinance Gazette 2006, p. 477)
Costs (fees, expenses, etc.)
The costs of insurance with the Hanseatische Feuerwehr-Unfallkasse Nord are borne by the municipality as the organiser of the volunteer fire brigade.
