- The electronic proof of identity is the online ID function of the ID card.
- If you change your address, only the address on the chip of your ID card will be changed.
- Prerequisite: Online ID function is activated
- Change of address must be made immediately.

If the electronic identity card (online ID function) is activated on your ID card and your address changes, you must also have your address changed on the chip of your ID card.
The electronic proof of identity is the online ID function of your ID card, which you can use, for example, to complete digital administrative procedures or identify yourself online at online retailers.
To change the address on the chip of your ID card, you must visit the registration office responsible for you at your new place of residence in person. As proof of your new address, you must present your official registration confirmation and the landlord's confirmation of residence.
If you have registered your new place of residence electronically, your new address will be automatically transferred from the residents' register to the chip in your ID card.

- You move into your new home without underage children.
- You have a valid ID card or a valid eID card with an activated online ID function and personal identification number (PIN).
