Registry office

Dear bridal couple,

Congratulations on your decision to get married in our registry office or in one of our branch offices.

Please only make appointments for the marriage ceremony and all other details regarding the organisation of your wedding with our registrars. Only then are they binding!

Appointment allocation

Dates for the following year are always allocated from September of the current year.

Registry office fees

The registry office fees are charged after the wedding ceremony. You will receive the invoice with your original documents following the wedding ceremony.

If you get married in one of our branch offices, a fee will be charged for the use of the branch office in addition to the registry office fees. A separate contract will be concluded with you and the respective branch office.

Please note: The registry office in whose district one of the spouses has their registered main or secondary residence is responsible for registering the marriage.

    The wedding room in the office building with a view of Lake Sellin and the Granitz hunting lodge should be your first choice for a wedding ceremony in the Mönchgut district (max. 20 guests).

  • Ostseebad Baabe "House of the Guest"

    Haus des Gastes - Wedding gallery

    You can get married in the wedding gallery in the "Haus des Gastes" with a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea (max. 24 guests).

    House of the guest - bridge footbridge

    From June to August, you can get married almost on the beach and without spectators on the jetty at the "Haus des Gastes" (max. 30 guests).

  • Baltic seaside resort of Göhren "Vju Hotel Rügen"

    Vju Hotel Rügen - Observation tower

    Make your wedding dream come true and get married at a height of 30 metres in the observation tower (only accessible on foot) with a fantastic panoramic view of the Baltic Sea (max. 8 guests).

    Vju Hotel Rügen - Tower room "Weitblick"

    With the blue of the Baltic Sea in the background, you can get married in the "Weitblick" tower room (max. 40 guests).

    Vju Hotel Rügen - Bernsteinpalais

    The Bernsteinpalais is available for a particularly large wedding event (max. 175 guests).

    Vju Hotel Rügen - Wedding beach

    The absolute highlight of the hotel, however, is the wedding ceremony on the beach. Here you can say "I do" with a direct view of the Baltic Sea. We hold outdoor weddings on the beach from 25 May to 20 September (weather permitting) and by individual arrangement (max. 20 guests).

Registration documents

If you are a German citizen and have not yet been married:

  • Identity card or passport
  • current certified copy of your birth entry or a birth certificate
  • an extended registration certificate from your local residents' registration office
  • Naturalisation certificates, late repatriate certificates, name changes, if applicable

If you were already married, then additionally:

  • Current extract from the register of the last marriage with a notice of dissolution and, if applicable, resumption of a previous name (available from the marriage registry office of this previous marriage)
  • the legally binding divorce decree of the last previous marriage
  • or death certificate of the former spouse

If you have children together, then additionally:

  • Birth certificate and certificate recognising paternity for each child
  • If applicable, document(s) on the declaration of joint parental custody (custody declaration)

Please note: You must always register your marriage at your place of residence. If you live in our district, then here at the registry office. The registration remains valid for 6 months.
