If you wish to get married, you must register your marriage at the registry office. The wedding ceremony takes place at a designated venue in a dignified setting.
You and your spouse must be present in person at the wedding ceremony at the same time and declare that you wish to enter into marriage with one another. This declaration is binding and must not be subject to any conditions.
Your marriage will be entered in the register of marriages in due course. Any subsequent changes relating to your marriage, such as changes of name, will also be recorded there.
If there are indications that the marriage would be legally invalid or could be annulled, the registry office must not perform the marriage ceremony.
